 The REALTOR®-Habitat Gulf Coast Recovery effort -- Operation Home Delivery -- is progressing extremely well. Since NAR past President Tom Stevens issued the challenge at the Association Executives Institute in 2006, we have received a great deal of positive feedback and support. Throughout 2006, work took place to build two REALTOR®-Habitat "Homes in a Box" in each of NAR's 13 regions across the United States. Throughout 2007, those "Homes in a Box" and other homes will be under construction in the Gulf Region, for a total of 54 homes. The NAR Leadership Team, congratulates the Washington State Association REALTORS®, which was the first to send a $70,000 check. As of January 26, 2007 35 states have submitted their $70,000 contributions. They are listed here in the order their funds were received:
In addition, a big "thank you" to the state associations that have pledged to meet the challenge. As of January 26, 2007, associations representing 5 states have made pledges. The state associations are listed below in the order their pledges were recieved:
State associations are urged to send a "Call to Action" to members and affiliates asking them to contribute to the cause. Contributions can be accepted from anyone in your community, as long as their checks are written to the REALTORS® Relief Foundation.
