The Public Affairs Division is responsible for all external communications, and seeks to raise
the credibility and visibility of the Realtor organization and its members as reliable, timely
sources of real estate information and service. We accomplish this through proactive
outreach to the media for interview placement; writing and distributing news releases;
writing speeches for NAR officers; preparing NAR spokespersons for media interviews
and public speaking roles; and fielding media inquiries. The Public Affairs Division
also manages NAR's National Public Awareness Campaign. |

The NATIONAL ASSOCIATION of REALTORS® Public Awareness Campaign
began in 1998 and its goal is to promote the REALTOR® the brand in
the real estate marketplace. In addition to network radio and television spots,
the campaign includes print advertisements that state and local REALTOR®
associations can use in their markets. In 2002, the fifth year of the program,
the Public Awareness Campaign features five new television and radio
spots and a significantly enlarged media buy.
