Hollywood Condo Billed as Paparazzi-Proof
A condominium under construction on Wilshire Boulevard near the Hollywood area of Los Angeles is billing itself as the first paparazzi-proof building.
Promotional materials for The Carlyle Residences, a 24-story tower, boasts "Israeli-trained VIP" security guards, private elevators that open directly into apartments, and high hedges that shield the swimming pool and yoga lawn from photographers. The pitch of the building is supposed to prevent prying neighbors in nearby buildings from peeking in.
The Carlyle is scheduled to open next year. Prices range from $2.9 million to $20 million for one of four units on the penthouse floor. It’s unclear whether any “stars” have put their money on the line.
