Redfin Posts MLS Final Sales
Online broker Redfin is making multiple listing service details on sales public the moment they are marked final on the MLS.
"With this upgrade, Redfin should have pictures of every sale within 15 minutes of the [practitioner] taking it off the market," Redfin chief executive Glenn Kelman wrote in an e-mail. "It's a big deal because brokers have long kept to themselves the data that consumers need to do a [comparative market analysis]."
The information available includes everything the associate selling the property provided when listing the house in the first place, plus parcel outlines, tax records and automated appraisals.
Currently, instant property transfers are available in: Seattle, Southern California, Boston, Washington D.C., the San Francisco Bay Area, Chicago, and Long Island and Westchester County, N.Y.
