Daily Real Estate News  |  November 18, 2009  |   Reach More Buyers With Podcasts
Real estate professionals should consider podcasts as a way to provide information about their local housing market to buyers and sellers. Audio podcasts are two- to three-minute recordings that can be uploaded to Web sites and sent to clients through e-mail.

Practitioners should determine whether they want to talk about monthly or quarterly market statistics, current industry issues, or topics that will remain relevant over the long term. They should provide an RSS feed that will allow consumers to subscribe and access podcasts as they become available.

In addition to attracting new business, podcasts can help practitioners position themselves as local experts, especially as journalists tend to quote from podcasts these days instead of interviewing experts to get quotes.

The equipment necessary for podcasting is available at local electronics stores, while editing software can be purchased online. But don't take on the commitment to podcasting unless you are able and willing to follow through on a consistent schedule of recordings.
