Lennar Corp., one of the largest home builders in the country, believes the home builder market will harden in the fall. In the meantime, it readily acknowledges that business is rough.

“This is going to be a rocky and sloppy bottom,” CEO Stuart Miller said during a conference call with analysts and investors. “It is natural that as we go from stimulus to free-market conditions taking over responsibility for that stabilization process, it gets uncomfortable. The handoff is not an easy or comfortable transition.”
