NAR FEATURES CELEBRITY JAMIE FARR AT 2005 REALTORS® CONFERENCE & EXPO

CHICAGO (October 21, 2005) – The NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® has announced the appearance of celebrity guest Jamie Farr at the 2005 REALTORS® Conference & Expo in San Francisco, October 28 – 31.

The television icon Jamie Farr, who played Sergeant Klinger on the most popular sitcom in television history (M*A*S*H), will be at NAR's IMAGINE Booth #3205 on October 29, 1 – 4pm. Farr will meet and greet visitors and sign autographs. Farr will also pose for pictures for a $10 donation. The $10 donation will benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina through NAR's REALTORS® Relief Foundation.

“We are honored and excited to host such an accomplished entertainer,” said Bob Goldberg, NAR, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Business Development and head of NAR’s REALTOR Benefits(sm) Program. Farr has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and an Emmy nomination for M*A*S*H. His Broadway debut in the revival of “Guys and Dolls” became the longest running revival of any kind, play or musical.

Farr played Sergeant Klinger on M*A*S*H for its 11 year run and directed several episodes. The weekly show could boast an amazing audience of 32 million regular viewers and was chosen by TV Guide as the best television show of all time. The final two and a half hour episode aired February 28, 1983, drawing more than 125 million viewers, a record that may never be broken. More recently, Farr appeared in “Moon Over Buffalo” and the comedy-thriller play, "Catch Me If You Can."

The REALTORS® Conference & Expo will run October 28 – 31. There will be over 550 exhibitors and more than 25,000 attendees are expected to attend.

NAR members enjoy the REALTOR Benefits(sm) Program, formerly the REALTOR VIP® Program, which offers them practical solutions for their business and personal lives on the publications, products and services that they use every day.

The program includes offerings from more than 25 companies recognized as leaders in their respective industries and more than 100 publications and products designed to educate real estate professionals and their clients on topics ranging from legal issues and risk management to business development and marketing. In addition, participation in the REALTOR Benefits(sm) Program helps keep NAR membership dues low.

The NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®, “The Voice for Real Estate,” is America’s largest trade association, representing more than 1,000,000 members involved in all aspects of the residential and commercial real estate industries.
