January 22, 2008: Code Is Your Guide to Service
In his latest podcast, 2008 NAR President Dick Gaylord says the best way to increase business in a competitive real estate market is to provide the best possible service. No surprise there. But you may be surprised to learn that all REALTORS® have a handbook for providing the best service in any market.
That’s right, NAR’s Code of Ethics has all of the secrets you need to succeed in any market. It is the benchmark for cooperation and service on which the National Association of REALTORS® was founded in 1908. It is what separates REALTORS® from all other practitioners, and it is the main reason our membership continues to grow while others are leaving the profession.
REALTORS® participate in Code of Ethics training every four years. The next deadline is December 31, 2008. Visit Realtor.org today to download the Code and other training materials.
January 8, 2008: Politics Is Our Business
In his latest podcast, 2008 NAR President Dick Gaylord says it’s no accident that politics and real estate are the top two news items thus far in 2008. We all know real estate is a key driver of our national economy. And, because laws and policies impact every aspect of the real estate transaction, what happens in federal, state and local government impacts REALTORS®. Simply put, if you are not active in politics, chances are you will be out of business.
Thanks to REALTORS®, like you, who contributed to RPAC and NAR’s grassroots advocacy, Congress passed several bills in 2007 that will help restore confidence in the real estate market. Now, as we enter an election year, REALTORS® have a golden opportunity to help keep the Voice for Real Estate strong in 2008 and beyond.
How much are a healthy market, strong communities and a growing business worth to you? Donate to RPAC today, and make sure you visit the REALTOR® Action Center and respond to every Call for Action. “All Together,” there is nothing we can’t accomplish.
