Goal #1
Recommend the 2017 AEC Vice Chair at the 2016 AE Institute.
Action/Update
The advisory board recommended that Rebecca Grossman, RCE, CAE, Chief Executive Officer, Scottsdale Area Association of REALTORS®, AZ, be the 2017 AEC Vice Chair. This recommendation was approved by 2016 NAR First Vice President Elizabeth Mendenhall.
Goal #2
Recommend key AEC liaisons to 2017 NAR committees at the 2016 Midyear Meeting.
Action/Update
The advisory board recommended AEs to be considered for appointments to key committee liaison positions. With this input, 2017 NAR President Bill Brown appointed the following 2017 AEC key liaisons:
Consumer Communications (2017) – Eric Berman, Massachusetts Association
Data Strategies (2017) – Mike Valerino, RCE, Akron Cleveland Association (OH)
Executive (2017) – Cliff Long, RCE, Birmingham Area Association (AL)

Recommend AE appointments to the 2017 NAR Board of Directors (1 State AE, 2 Local AEs, 1 Regional MLS AE) at the 2016 Midyear Meeting.

With input from the advisory board, 2017 NAR President Bill Brown approved the following 2017 AE Board of Directors Appointments:
State AE (1) – Mike Theo, CAE, Wisconsin REALTORS® Association
Local AE (2) – Rebecca Grossman, RCE, Scottsdale Area Association (AZ); Jim Haisler, RCE, Heartland REALTOR® Organization (IL)
Regional MLS AE (1) – Anne Marie DeCatsye, Carolina MLS, Inc. (NC)

Select the 2016 Dr. Almon R. (Bud) Smith, RCE, AE Leadership Society inductees at the 2016 AE Institute (maximum of 3).

The advisory board selected Andrea Bushnell, RCE, CIPS, Chief Executive Officer, North Carolina Association of REALTORS®, as the recipient of the 2016 William R. Magel Award of Excellence.

Select the 2016 Terry McDermott AE Community Leadership Award recipient at the 2016 REALTORS® Conference and Expo.

Actions to be taken to achieve goals:
Solicit nominations and applications from the AEC constituency prior to each National meeting; carefully review all nominations and applications and conduct interviews (when appropriate) to ensure that the most qualified candidates are recommended for these positions.
Expected outcome:
Qualified association executives are appointed to select positions within the association and selected as recipients for awards/scholarships.
