The following should be included in newsletters and/or emails to local board/association membership starting January 2012.

One Year Left To Complete Third Cycle of Ethics Training
All REALTORS® must complete two-and-a-half hours of Code of Ethics training within given four year cycles according to NAR policy. The current four-year cycle ends this year, December 31, 2012. To help REALTORS® meet this obligation, two NAR online ethics courses are available. To find out more information and learn about other ethics training resources/information, go to http://www.REALTOR.org/COEtraining.

Mandatory Code of Ethics Training
With less than a year left for REALTORS® to complete their mandatory Code of Ethics training, NAR is promoting the training resources available on realtor.org to assist members in fulfilling this requirement. There are two online ethics training courses available on Realtor.org. Each course meets the specific criteria and learning objectives required for either new REALTORS® or existing REALTORS®. Less than One Year Left to Complete Current Cycle of Ethics Training
All REALTORS® must complete two-and-a-half hours of Code of Ethics training within given four year cycles according to NAR policy. The current four-year cycle ends December 31, 2012. The ethics training tests REALTORS® on NAR Code of Ethics concepts, identifying code violations, and enforcement of professional standards; and is conducted by local REALTOR® Associations on their own, or with other associations, or through other methods such as home study, correspondence, and Internet based courses. REALTOR® Code of Ethics Training
All REALTORS® must complete two-and-a-half hours of Code of Ethics training within given four year cycles according to NAR policy. The current four-year cycle ends December 31, 2012. Failure to complete the ethics training is a violation of membership, which can lead to suspension of membership and possible termination. Still Time to Complete REALTORS® Code of Ethics Training

December 31, 2012 is the deadline for every REALTOR® to complete required code of ethics training. Between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2012 all REALTOR® must complete 2 1/2 hours of training covering the NAR Code of Ethics and its enforcement. Members are encouraged to take advantage of NAR’s free, two-and-a-half hour online code of ethics training courses at www.realtor.org. Failure to comply with this requirement is a violation of a membership duty that can result in membership suspension and possible termination.
