Reaching Superstardom

Mastering marketing basics and doggedly pursuing listings are the keys to getting to the top—and staying there.

What do Bruce Hardie, Alicia Trevino, and the husband-and-wife team of Linda Rike and Ed Daughety have in common? Each of them has found a path to consistently high production in real estate sales.

Hardie, 43, is team leader of The Hardie Group with Keller Williams Realty Spokane Valley in Spokane, Wash. His team closed $37.5 million in sales on 247 transactions last year. For 2005, the team is on track to close $62 million. Rike, 55, and Daughety, 59, are broker-owners of Linda Rike Real Estate in the waterfront community of Morehead City, N.C. They closed $45.5 million in sales volume on 162 transactions in 2004 and expect to close $50 million this year. Trevino, 39, heads a boutique operation, Alicia Trevino, REALTORS®, in Garland, Texas, a thriving Dallas suburb. She and her team closed $45 million in sales on about 300 transactions in 2004. She estimates they’ll close $57 million this year.
