For the Puzzle Lover

Ever since the Sudoku craze took hold, puzzle fans have searched for other ways to fulfill their yearning for number games. Franklin’s Electronic Kakuro looks like an ordinary crossword puzzle but uses numbers instead of words. The goal is to fill all blank squares with the numbers 1 to 9, so that the numbers entered add up to the corresponding clues. When you’re stumped, a “hint” button offers some clues. Three levels of difficulty make the game suitable for a range of ages and abilities.

All in the Details

Give a gift that customers can use for the place they call their second home — their car! Instead of giving a booklet of free car wash coupons, go a step beyond with a car detailing gift certificate. Detailing helps maintain the longevity of a car’s paint, removes blemishes, and keeps it shining like new. Some companies even have mobile vans that will come to an owner’s home or office. Feeling extra generous? Add some extra services like carpet or upholstery cleaning.

Price: Prices vary by company and size of the vehicle. One Las Vegas firm charges $25 to $35 for a small or mid-sized car, $35 for a small SUV, and $45 for a large SUV. Another shop in St. Louis charges $139 for a small or mid-sized car, $169 for a small SUV, and $199 for a large SUV.

Where to get it:Check your Yellow Pages or go online and look up “detailing” with the name of your city
