A Fresh Look at REALTOR.org
If you haven’t visited NAR’s official Web site lately, you’re in for some pleasant surprises. We’ll take you on a guided tour.

Where can you go to read the latest real estate news, find easy-to-understand summaries of the legislative issues you care about, and learn about money-saving deals being offered to REALTORS®? REALTOR.org, the official Web site of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®, is a portal to all of that information and more. The site has just been redesigned and reorganized so you can sort through the vast amount of information to find exactly what you’re looking for in less time. If you haven’t been to REALTOR.org lately, it’s definitely worth a visit. Here are some of the highlights:
- REALTOR.org Home Page. Updated daily, this page is the starting point of your journey and a deserving book mark on your computer. Watch the colorful slideshow to learn about “This Week’s Hot Topics,” or browse the “Quick Links” in the lower half of the page for fast access to popular areas of the site, such as the NAR Action Center and the Public Awareness Campaign. On the left navigation, you can link to the REALTORS® & Business Specialties section for resources on various segments of real estate, including: Commercial Real Estate, International, Resorts & Second Homes, Appraisal, Auction, and Buyer Representation.
- Home Buyers & Sellers. Tap into tips, guides, and studies about buying and selling. Refer your customers to the Buyer’s Guide or the Homeseller’s Guide to Success (which links them to an article o REALTOR.com) to learn more about the process they’re going through. And don’t forget to check out the “Homeownership Resources” near the bottom of the page to read about Housing as an Investment or to access the Emergency Preparedness Guide for homeowners. These resources can be useful both to you and your clients.
- Internet Listing Display Debate. If you want to get a better grasp of NAR’s new policy governing online home listings, this is where you can do it. Pages and pages of information are available for free on all aspects of the policy and its implications for the real estate industry. Start with the New Internet Listing Display Policy at a Glance, and if you’re hungry for more details then read the full, 1,913-word ILD Policy. Go to the “In This Section” box on the right side of the screen to learn About Industry Competitiveness and to understand NAR’s Position on the Internet Listing Display Debate. Your ILD questions are sure to be answered in this section of REALTOR.org.
- Government Affairs. Brush up on NAR’s top legislative and regulatory priorities by reading these simple, easy-to-understand Federal Issues in Brief. Also, read the “What’s New” section for the latest developments in efforts to get NAR-supported bills passed into law.
- REALTOR® Benefits. Who’s not interested in saving money on the marketing products, publications, and technology that you need to succeed? In this revamped section of REALTOR.org you can link to the dozens of companies who have agreed to offer discounted products and services to members of NAR. From this page, you also can link directly to the REALTOR.org Store, where you can purchase real estate publications at a discount.
