Lowe’s: direct mail on your behalf

NAR and Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse, the newest REALTOR VIP® Alliance Program partner, have created a free direct mail marketing program that makes it easy for members to reach clients and customers.

Lowe’s will send coupons and rebate offers via customized direct mailings featuring a member’s name, contact information, photo, and company logo to one of three target audiences—sellers, prospective buyers, and new homeowners. Each target audience receives a different mailing:

Sellers receive a postcard (pictured) with information on prepping a home for sale, a Lowe’s coupon worth 10 percent off purchases up to $10,000, and other special Lowe’s coupons and rebate offers.

Prospective buyers receive a postcard with tips on making a house a “home” and a personal URL where they can access their new home Dreambook, an 8- to 12-page printable brochure—customized by the practitioner—with project plans and ideas for the home they’re interested in.

New homeowners receive a congratulatory customized postcard, a Lowe’s coupon worth 10 percent off purchases up to $10,000 as a housewarming gift, and other special Lowe’s coupons and rebate offers.

Nextel’s next deal

Nextel Communications, NAR’s exclusive provider of wireless phone service under the REALTOR VIP® Alliance Program, is offering members 5 percent off all new Nextel monthly voice plans. Members who are already Nextel customers receive the discount if they agree to a new one- or two-year service contract. Nextel continues to offer NAR members a $25 invoice credit on new Nextel phone purchases and a special offer on Nextel’s TeleNav GPS product: a free first-month trial and 10 percent off all available TeleNav service plans. Banner year for lockboxes

SentriLock LLC posted strong sales of REALTOR™ Lockboxes during its first year in business and was on target to reach two milestones by mid-2005.

At the end of April, SentriLock, a REALTOR VIP® Alliance Program partner, had installed more than 80,000 lockboxes for 44 associations and some 26,000 active users. James Reynolds, senior account manager at SentriLock, said the company expected to hit 100,000 lockboxes and 50 associations by the end of June 2005. “We’re signing a new contract about every week and a half,” he says.

To meet demand, SentriLock has increased production capacity. In keeping with its customer service focus, the company has created dedicated account representatives to service each association.
