On Feb. 4, 2015, the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) released Mortgagee Letter 2015-04 to provide improved notification templates for the availability of HUD-approved housing counseling services. The new template is user-friendly and designed to ensure that delinquent borrowers understand how housing counselors can assist them. Mortgagees can access the notification template in English, Spanish, Vietnamese or Chinese by accessing HUD’s Direct Distribution Center.
