Risk Management & License Law Forum at 2013 REALTORS® Conference & Expo

This year’s Risk Management and License Law Forum at the 2013 REALTORS® Conference and Expo in San Francisco, CA will focus on pocket listings. Come hear three well-versed panelists give you their unique perspectives on this growing trend.

Elizabeth Miller-Bougdanos, Senior Counsel for the California Association of REALTORS®, will provide a basic overview of the topic and will focus on the legal risks these listings present. Ms. Miller-Bougdanos will also share developments seen in California and California’s response to the issue.

Next, Robert Bailey, a REALTOR® and Chair of MLS Listings, Inc. Board of Directors, will inform the audience from a business and industry perspective and share statistical data demonstrating the threat that pocket listings pose to the MLS database and organized real estate.

Finally, Bill Lublin will speak with respect to the recent NAR work group tasked with studying this issue, which Mr. Lublin chaired, and he will educate the audience on the ethical issues that must be taken into consideration. Mr. Lublin, a REALTOR® and recognized practitioner attuned to emerging trends in real estate, will also provide an overview of the off-MLS Listing and private listing clubs popping up as a result of this issue.
