RPR® Data Fuels Neighborhood Profiles

Even local real estate pros may not know every neighborhood in their city. That’s why the St. Louis Association of REALTORS® launched a new interactive neighborhood profile application on its consumer-facing website (stlhomeresource.com) powered by information from the REALTORS Property Resource®.

“Members use the tool to learn about different neighborhoods they were not previously fully aware of and get to know yet another neighborhood that could have their clients’ dream home,” says Lauren Smith, the association’s director of marketing and communications.

The online tool features drill-down maps of St. Louis and its 79 neighborhoods and surrounding counties featuring profiles of 91 municipalities and 9 unincorporated areas. Click on any neighborhood for information about the median home value and neighborhood population. Then drill deeper for a printable multipage report including a trove of other statistics, such as the population of children by age group, household income, occupational categories, average commute times, and even presidential voting patterns.

Before the online tool launched, the association used RPR® data to create neighborhood profiles in its print magazine. “In each magazine feature we mention that RPR® is the source of the data and that it’s a database members receive at no cost,” says Smith. “Due to that partnership, I think RPR®’s credibility among our members is quite high.”

Smith credits the magazine profiles with increased member engagement with the publication. “I’ve received feedback from members asking me to feature their neighborhood or a neighborhood that they’re very familiar with next.” Visit the St. Louis neighborhood interactive tool online at stlhomeresource.com/whystl/map-of-st-louis.
