Goal #1
Recommend the 2010 AEC Vice Chair at the 2009 AE Institute.
Action/Update
The subcommittee recommended that Steve Francks, RCE, CAE, CEO, Washington Association of REALTORS®, be the 2010 AEC Vice Chair. This recommendation was approved by 2009 NAR First Vice President Ron Phipps.
Goal #2
Recommend key AEC liaisons to 2010 NAR committees at the 2009 Midyear Meeting.
Action/Update
The subcommittee recommended AEs to be considered for appointments to key committee liaison positions. With this input, 2010 NAR President Vicki Cox Golder appointed the following 2010 AEC key liaisons:
Business Issues Committee (2010) -- Jerry Panz, RCE, CAE, Wilmington Regional Association (NC)
Communications Committee (2010) -- Ginger Downs, RCE, CAE, Chicago Association (IL)
Executive Committee (2010) -- Rob Authier, RCE, CAE, Massachusetts Association
Finance Committee/State AE (2010-2011) -- John Fridlington, RCE, CAE, Florida Association
Issues Mobilization (2010) -- Denise Tatman, RCE, Delaware Association

Recommend AE appointments to the 2010 NAR Board of Directors (1 State AE, 2 Local AEs, 1 Regional MLS AE) at the 2009 Midyear Meeting.

With input from the subcommittee, 2010 NAR President Vicki Cox Golder approved the following 2010 AE Board of Director appointments:
Local AE (2) -- Dave Phillips, RCE, CAE, Charlottesville Area Association (VA); Ryan Tucholski, RCE, Greater Rochester Association (NY)
State AE (1) -- Steve Francks, RCE, CAE, Washington Association
Regional MLS AE (1) -- Richard Renton, Triad Multiple Listing Service (NC)

Select the 2009 Dr. Almon R. (Bud) Smith, RCE, AE Leadership Society inductees at the 2009 AE Institute (maximum of 6).

Select the 2009 William R. Magel Award of Excellence recipient at the 2009 Midyear Meeting.

The subcommittee selected Travis Kessler, RCE, CAE, Chief Executive Officer, San Antonio Board (TX), as the recipient of the 2009 William R. Magel Award of Excellence.

Select the 2009 AE Community Leadership Award recipient at the 2009 REALTORS® Conference and Expo.

Select the 2010 William D. North AE Institute Scholarship recipients at the 2009 REALTORS® Conference & Expo.

Identify key NAR committees to which AEC liaisons will be appointed in 2011 at the 2009 REALTORS® Conference & Expo.

Actions to be taken to achieve goals:
Solicit nominations and applications from the AEC constituency prior to each National meeting; carefully review all nominations and applications and conduct interviews (when appropriate) to ensure that the most qualified candidates are recommended for these positions.
Expected outcome:
Qualified association executives are appointed to select positions within the association and selected as recipients for awards/scholarships.
