The University of Chicago Strategies in Nonprofit Management Certificate Program

The University of Chicago Strategies in Nonprofit Management Certificate Program, which NAR has offered in partnership with U of C since 2005, will be discontinued at the end of 2013. Due to budget constraints and market saturation, participation in the program is declining, so it is no longer financially feasible to offer the program. AEs who are currently on track to earn the certificate can take advantage of the following course offerings to complete the certificate requirements:
• November 9, 2011 (Anaheim, CA) — Essential Financial Tools for Nonprofit Managers
Registration opens August 1
• March 16, 2012 (Louisville, KY) — Leadership in Changing Times
• May 14, 2012 (Washington, D.C.) — Strategy to Accountability: Performance Management and Outcome Measures in Nonprofit Organizations
• March 15, 2013 (San Diego, CA) — Tackling the Strategic Plan
• May 13, 2013 (Washington, DC) — Increasing Board Effectiveness
Participation in NAR's REALTOR® Leadership Program can also be used as credit toward completing the certificate.
To earn the Certificate in Nonprofit Management, AEs must complete four core and two optional full-day courses with pre- and post-work assignments.
AEs who are not interested in earning the certificate can choose to audit any of the classes on a course-by-course basis, at a reduced fee, without pre- and post-work assignments.
Each U of C course is worth 6 points toward the RCE designation; certificate completion is worth 64 points.
Note: All students participating in the certificate program should review the policies and procedures attached below for completing the pre- and post-work assignments.
Registration Fee
$350 for certificate program enrollees; $250 for non–certificate enrollees. Lunch is included.
Cancellations will only be accepted in writing. Refunds for cancellations will only be available if cancellation is received at least 30 days prior to the scheduled course date. No refunds will be granted after that date. A $25 administration fee will be subtracted for each class cancelled.
