AE Institute & RCE Orientation
7:30 a.m. - 8:15 a.m.
Learn how to select the right Institute sessions for you so you make the
most out of your Institute experience. You'll also hear an overview of the
RCE designation process. Orientation is a great opportunity to meet
your peers.
Opening Session
8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
The Opening Session is the official kick-off to the 2009 AE Institute.
Come and meet the 2009 AEI team, and leave exhilarated by a
challenging keynote address from Nido Qubein. Qubein’s message
will show that the 21stCentury rewards extraordinary people whose
competence and commitment directly affects their beliefs, behaviors,
and results. You’ll also hear from 2009 NAR President Charles McMillan,
who’ll offer some special remarks.
Icebreaker Reception
5:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Join your friends and colleagues for this special reception where there
will be a generous array of good food, good music, and good company
at this official Institute welcome gala.
SUNDAY, MARCH 22
NAR AE Forum
8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
This special open forum allows you to participate in discussions about the
issues impacting your associations and your members.
Legislative Advocacy Lunch
12:15 a.m. – 1:45 p.m.
As a REALTOR® association executive, you know that politics plays an
important role in your members’ profession. Come enjoy lunch and sharpen
your political insights with a keynote address from Jim VandeHei, one of the
founders of Politico, the on-line resource for anything and everything political.

Back by popular demand. The AE Institute’s sponsoring vendors will host
hospitality rooms for Institute participants.
MONDAY, MARCH 23
NAR Update Lunch
12:15 p.m. – 1:45 p.m.
Join NAR EVP/CEO Dale Stinton, RCE, CAE, for an update on NAR issues.
Ask the questions you need answers to in this open forum with your peers
and your national counterpart.
NAR General Session
3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
All Institute attendees are invited to this special general session to hear
keynote speaker Kathleen Passanisi will share how positive humor can
serve as a buffer to the pressures of life.
Institute Happy Hour!
4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Join your Institute friends for some refreshments and informal networking.
The live and silent auctions benefiting the AE Professional Development Fund
will also take place during the Happy Hour.
State Night Out
After the Institute Happy Hour, get together with the other AEs in your state
for a night out on the town. Monday night has been officially designated as
“State Night Out” at the 2009 AE Institute.
TUESDAY, MARCH 24
Legal Update with Laurie Janik
9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.
Join NAR General Counsel Laurie Janik as she updates Institute attendees
on the latest legal cases facing REALTOR® associations, and other legal
issues that could have an impact on your members and your associations.
AE Institute Closing Ceremony
10:45 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
This final gathering of Institute attendees brings your Institute experience
full circle, and prepares you to take what you’ve learned and apply it at your
associations. Some details of the 2010 Institute will also be shared.
