RCE Exam
The RCE examination is administered twice a year at the REALTORS® Conference & Expo and the AE Institute. RCE candidates may choose to complete the exam during an NAR sponsored meeting, or locally online with an RCE proctor (up to four weeks prior to being offered at an NAR meeting). RCE candidates must be pre-registered in order to take the exam.
Candidates have the option to take the examination all in one day or by module at different times, in any sequence. All of the major sections listed below are covered in the examination. Each bulleted entry listed under the major sections indicates an exam topic. The three modules are:

Exam Process
Candidates have 60 minutes to complete each module. Details and registration information are provided to eligible candidates prior to each examination date. RCE candidates must be pre-registered in order to take the exam.
ADF workshops designed to help you maximize the points on your ADF and to prepare for the examination are offered at the AE Institute and state/local regional meetings.
The RCE examination consists of 120 multiple-choice questions with 420 possible points. The minimum number of points needed to successfully complete all three modules of the examination is 225. Candidates must achieve a minimum of 75 points in each module of the examination to successfully pass.
Candidates who do not receive the minimum required passing score after taking the examination have two years from the date their ADF was submitted to retake the module(s) they did not pass during the next time an examination is offered. Candidates must pay an additional $75 fee to retake the examination.
