Political Field Representative / Southwest Virginia

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Virginia Association of Realtors® (VAR) seeks a Political Field Representative who will be based in-region to assist and grow local REALTOR® grassroots governmental affairs activities, including planning and assisting in implementing political strategy through grassroots involvement and PAC fundraising, legislative education and involvement, communications, and coordination with VAR.

The Southwest Region roughly encompasses Lynchburg and west, Lexington and south.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Reinforcing the REALTOR® organization’s central value proposition to members at the local level
  • Enhancing member grassroots involvement in both local and state elections, as well as in public policy issues and VAR lobbying efforts.
  • Creating invaluable relationships with members to benefit local associations of REALTORS® and VAR.
  • Enabling VAR to disseminate information more rapidly and mobilize our members more effectively.
  • Assisting VAR in relationship management with members of the General Assembly in-district.
  • Providing a powerful resource to assist local associations in awareness on local policy issues, informing members and assisting with RPAC fundraising and spending.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 3-plus years of professional experience, preferably in a fundraising and/or political operations.
  • Must provide own means of transportation. Daily travel throughout the assigned territory is required; travel expenses reimbursed by VAR
  • Would be required several times per year to be available for overnight travel, including multiple nights, to VAR, and to state and national meetings and functions.

Field Reps would reside in-region and would work out of home office. VAR provides a benefits package including health, dental and 401k options; no relocation package would be provided.

Director of Government Affairs

Administrative Services Coordinator

This position supports the Director of Administration and Executive Office.

Administration

  • Provides a wide variety of administrative support functions for the Director of Administration
  • Generates electronic copies of all signed contracts and maintains contract files
  • Composes material for solicitation of nominees for SIOR Distinguished Service Award and Presidents Community Service Award; collects submissions for the awards and prepares nominee material for transmission to selection committee.
  • Reviews, scans and codes vendor invoices and officer expense reports for processing by outsourced accounts payable vendor
  • Collects submissions for NAR committee appointments
  • Compiles materials for Spring and Fall World Conferences, including officer daily schedule and notebooks; compiles materials for various other meetings.
  • Other administrative duties as assigned

Executive Office Support

  • Composes correspondence for the Executive Vice President (EVP) and Director of Administration
  • Updates and maintains SIOR Operating Manual
  • Updates Policy Manual based on Board decisions
  • Maintains chronological e-file of Board motions
  • Works with Director of Administration to set up EVP international travel appointments; prepares spreadsheets, badges and other materials for international appointments and meetings; assists with EVP travel arrangements and prepares travel folder

Committee Support

  • Prepares materials for Board of Directors, Nominating Committee, Professional Standards Committee and Past Presidents Advisory Council
  • Professional Standards Committee: organizes materials for professional standards ethics and mediation grievance review panels and hearings; assists with preparation of materials and logistics for hearings
  • Nominating Committee: updates candidate questionnaires and maintains candidate spreadsheets; generates e-copies of candidate applications; prepares materials for Nominating Committee, including candidate interview schedule

General Office Support

  • Receives office visitors and deliveries; routes incoming phone calls and responds to member/customer service inquiries about SIOR services and publications; fills general information requests whenever possible; enters publications orders in database
  • Distributes daily mail; orders office supplies, stationery and business cards and serves as primary contact for vendors including FedEx, UPS, Staples and Guernsey Office Products; organizes and stores supplies; researches and resolves billing issues with vendors
  • Places service calls for repair of office equipment and submits service requests to property management office for general office maintenance
  • Accounting: Maintains check log (of incoming check payments); distributes checks to appropriate staff for internal processing; logs and prepares checks for fed ex to SIOR Lockbox or for bank deposit, and handles bank deposit of checks as needed.
  • Maintains and submits employee timesheet records to NAR
  • Assists with administration of Kastle Keycard system
  • Other general office support and accounting functions (handles shipments, assistance with mailings, etc.) as assigned.

Educational Requirements and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university preferred
  • Minimum of two years of administrative experience

Specific Skills and Abilities

  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, including advanced proficiency in Word and Excel
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to respond to members and general public in knowledgeable, courteous and professional manner
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Communications Director

The San Antonio Board of REALTORS® is looking for a dynamic and energetic individual to fill the position of Communications Director. Duties include, but are not limited to:

Meetings and Affiliate/Sponsor Relations Manager

The Missouri Association of REALTORS® (MAR) is seeking a dynamic professional to plan and coordinate all MAR meetings as well as develop and implement a new Affiliate and Sponsorship Program for the benefit of Missouri REALTORS®.

Primary responsibilities include:

Meeting Planning: Reporting to the Director, Operations and Meetings:

  • Conduct research, make site visits, and find resources to assist in future site selection and assisting in negotiations for the same
  • Arrange food and beverage, order supplies and audiovisual equipment, order event signs, and ensure appropriate décor to meet the expectations of attending MAR members.
  • Coordinate with MAR staff on room layouts for each event.
  • Manage rooming lists for MAR staff and leadership to ensure all attendees’ needs are met
  • Propose new ideas to improve the event planning and implementation process.
  • Assist with managing on-site production as necessary.
  • Manage production of name tags, materials, notebooks, packages, gift bags, registration lists, seating cards, etc.
  • Close out all events as required.
  • Assist with preparing budgets and provide periodic progress reports to management for each event including final P&L.
  • Keep track of event finances including check requests, invoicing, and reporting.

Affiliate Relations: Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Communications:

  • Working with members and other MAR stakeholders, conduct market research, develop strategy and plan for the launch of an MAR Affiliate and Sponsorship program in order to generate substantial non-dues revenue.
  • Utilize a consultative sales process to meet with corporate clients, identifying key decision makers, to learn their business objectives as the basis for structuring a mutually beneficial level of participation as a MAR Affiliate and/or Sponsor.
  • Identify new sponsorship offerings and other expansion opportunities for MAR by establishing strategically important relationships with corporate and non-profit entities.
  • Identify new business opportunities through market research, insights and intelligence.
  • Develop and deliver sales presentations to new prospects by phone and in-person.
  • Prioritize and manage all business opportunities to maximize sales volumes.
  • Work and coordinate with appropriate staff to ensure proper sponsorship fulfillment.
  • Collaborate on expense and revenue budget development for the program

Director, Local Board and NAR Relations

Missouri Association of REALTORS® (MAR)

The Missouri Association of REALTORS® (MAR) is seeking a dynamic professional to work with association executives at local REALTOR Boards in Missouri as well as with staff at the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) to foster a more productive relationship between the various organizations for the benefit of Missouri REALTORS®.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Acting as MAR’s day-to-day point of contact with local Board/Association Executives (AEs). Through the development of a close working relationship with local AEs, understanding local issues and proactively working to assist local AEs in delivering value to the member through communication and implementation of both MAR and NAR programs and services. Engaging other MAR staff when necessary to assure delivery of the MAR/NAR value proposition to local Boards/Associations.
  • Assisting local Board/Association staff and/or legal counsel to assure compliance with NAR policies and procedures and the proper interpretation of policies and procedures for application and enforcement.
  • Developing and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of MAR and NAR programs and services. Keeping abreast of all information provided by NAR and working with MAR Communications Department to assure that information is delivered to local AEs as well as appropriate MAR staff.
  • On behalf of MAR and its volunteer leaders, coordinating MAR activities at a NAR and Regional level.

This is a highly visible position within the organization requiring a high degree of professionalism. Must be able to travel extensively within Missouri, with some regional and national travel.
