JoAnne E. Poole, a REALTOR® for more than 25 years, in Baltimore, Md., is the 2014 Vice President for the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®.
Poole is the Branch Office Manager for Prudential Homesale YWGC Realty, a firm specializing in residential real estate. She holds a designation as a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS). She is also a Certified e-PRO® and a Graduate of the REALTORS Institute® (GRI).
Poole has extensive experience at the national level. She has served as a liaison to NAR’s Leadership Team on a number of committee issues, including data strategies, emerging business and technology, member communications, professional development, research and issues mobilization. In 2013, she was a liaison to NAR’s Social Media Advisory Board and the Young Professionals Network Advisory Board. She has chaired the Housing Opportunity Committee as well as the Federal Housing Policy Committee.
At the Maryland Association of REALTORS® (MAR), Poole serves on committees for finance, strategic planning, statewide forms, and public policy. MAR elected Poole their president in 2005. She was their treasurer in 2001. For her long history of dedication and service to Maryland REALTORS®, she received the MAR Life Achievement Award.
Poole is a member of the Anne Arundel County Association of REALTORS® (AACAR). She currently serves on the international and professional standards committees. She served as their president in 1997. AACAR also named her REALTOR® of the Year.
Poole is active in other real estate organizations. At the Women’s Council of REALTORS® (WCR) she served as the Maryland state chapter president, regional vice president and the chief editor of WCR’s national magazine, Communiqué. She holds the WCR designation, Performance Management Network (PMN). Poole is a founding member of the Maryland Hispanic Real Estate Industry Association. She was inducted into Omega Tau Rho.
Engaged in her community, Poole is a long-standing supporter of fair housing and sustainable homeownership. She instructs other REALTORS® on fair housing issues and was a trainer for Freddie Mac’s CreditSmart program. She is a graduate of Morgan State University. Poole and her husband John have two sons.
