May Wan was born in China and lived in Hong Kong before immigrating to Canada, where she graduated from the University of British Columbia. Prior to being a real estate practitioner, May was a senior banking executive specializing in real estate lending.
May is a certified instructor of continuing education for NAR, Washington REALTORS® and the Seattle King County Association of REALTORS®. In addition to having taught “At Home with Diversity,” “Expand your Market,” “Risk Reduction: International Business Affecting your Local Markets,” and “Employer Assisted Housing,” May has taught her own courses of “Selling Real Estate in a Multicultural World” and “FHA Essentials”. Since 2009, May has been a CIPS (Certified International Property Specialist) instructor, and has taught CIPS courses in Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, and New York.
May is the Past President of the Greater Seattle Chinese Chamber of Commerce and a Founding Board Member of the Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA), Greater Seattle Chapter. A life-long community volunteer, May is the proud recipient of the 2007 Seattle King County Association of REALTORS® Affiliate Community Service Award and the 2010 Cultural Awareness Award.
