WorldProperties.com Frequently Asked Questions
Guide for U.S.-based NAR Members

1. As a member of NAR, can I join ICREA?
ICREA's membership is comprised of leading real estate national associations—there are no individual or company members. However, as a member of the National Association of REALTORS® (ICREA’s US member), you are already affiliated with ICREA and can take advantage of the agent services available from WorldProperties.com. In the US, only members of NAR can take advantage of the agent services available from ICREA and WorldProperties.com. If you have not yet registered on this website, go to WorldProperties.com and click on the ‘New user' link. You will need your NAR NRDS ID to register for the first time. After that your e-mail and a password of your choosing will provide you access. If you don't know your NRDS ID, you'll find a link from the registration page for US members to the page at REALTOR.org where you can look up this information. Your NRDS ID is also on your REALTOR Magazine® label. Once you have registered, you will have access to the Members Only section of the website. Access detailed registration guide.

2. When I try to register at WorldProperties.com, it does not recognize my NRDS ID. What do I do?
If you are not completely sure you have the correct NRDS ID, please call NAR Information Central at 1.800.874.6500 to confirm you have the correct ID. Also, make sure you have selected “United States” when trying to register. If you still are unable to register, e-mail service@WorldProperties.com and provide your full name, contact information and NRDS ID to request technical assistance. Your request will be addressed within 48 business hours. (TIP: if your NRDS ID begins with a 0, try entering your NRDS ID without the 0. Also, if you have been a member of NAR for less than 2 months, your NRDS ID may not yet be included in the data upload to WorldProperties.com. You may wish to wait a couple weeks and try again.)

3. I don’t participate in an MLS that feeds to REALTOR.com®. Can I still register at WorldProperties.com?
Yes, but you will be unable to market US properties through the WorldProperties.com Distinctive Property Advertising Service. You may, however, post properties located outside the US in any of the available countries.

4. Do I need to have an enhanced listing or a Web page at REALTOR.com® to be found at WorldProperties.com?
No. On WorldProperties.com, your profile can be accessed through two search paths, the consumer and the professional:

1. If a consumer clicks on “Find a Professional” for the US, he/she will be taken to REALTOR.org, where the “Find a REALTOR®” feature can be used to locate all NAR members using a variety of search criteria.

2. Members of all the National Associations who belong to ICREA can find your profile via the ICREA MEMBER CENTER – Member Directory tab. This profile can be updated by you once you have registered. If you wish to update this information, e.g., language, business specialty, etc., you should update your NRDS record at NAR. NAR is the source of the data that is displayed on WorldProperties.com, and your edits will be refreshed with the information on file at NAR on a monthly basis.

A third area in which members can be listed is the Transnational Referral Certified (TRC) database. This is a searchable database on the public side of the site that list all ICREA-affiliated broker who have earned the TRC. Click on the Transnational Referral tab on the Member's Only side for more information.

5. How can I add or update information to my Member Directory record at WorldProperties.com?
Once you have registered, you can edit your profile at any time with the ‘Manage Profile’ tab on the ICREA MEMBER CENTER. You can change select fields directly from the WorldProperties.com site, but you should make these same changes on your NRDS record as soon as a possible with NAR so that future uploads don’t overwrite your changes. You can also upload your personal photograph and your company logo. These images will not be affected by the monthly updates from NAR.

At this time, the TRC database does not interface with the database of ALL ICREA-affiliated brokers, so for those who are listed in the TRC database, you may make changes to your contact information by e-mailing service@worldproperties.com.

6. I’m a paid REALTOR® Association executive/staff and would like to register at the site. What do I need to do?
If you have been assigned a NRDS ID with NAR, then you should be able to register at the site, although it may prompt you for some broker-related information. Use the Association's general information, where appropriate, and choose anything for required "broker" fields. If you do not have a NRDS ID, talk with your Executive Officer (EO). The EO may include you on a listing of association staff of record with NAR so that a NRDS ID is generated, OR the EO may choose to set up one registration at the WorldProperties.com site, and then allow multiple staff to share the e-mail and password. Either is fine.

7. How do I advertise my distinctive U.S. listings at WorldProperties.com?
To promote U.S. based distinctive property listings at WorldProperties.com these listings must be available at REALTOR.com®, and then through the Enhanced Listing Service, can be flagged as "Internationally Featured" properties. Only Internationally Featured properties in the US will be visible at WorldProperties.com. Currently, there is no charge for the Internationally Featured flag (subject to change), but NAR members pay to be subscribers to the Enhanced Listing service at REALTOR.com®, for which fees to apply. For more information on both the Enhanced Listing service and the Internationally Featured product, contact REALTOR.com® at 1.800.878.4166. US REALTORS® can individually post ads for distinctive properties that are located outsidethe United States directly at WorldProperties.com.

8. What if I have listings that are not included at REALTOR.com®, (such as listings from outside the US), or if I’m not a member of an MLS? Can I still advertise these properties at WorldProperties.com?
US REALTORS® are unable to advertise any US-based properties at WorldProperties.com that are not also at REALTOR.com®. You may, however, advertise your non-US-based listings that are located in an ICREA-member country or one of the additional country options that has been added to the Distinctive Advertising Service.

9. I’m a CIPS (Certified International Property Specialist). How can CIPS designees be distinguished at the site?
On the US “country home page” a link is available directing visitors to “Find a Certified International Property Specialist.” This will take users to the CIPS Network Directory Search page. Beyond that, the CIPS Network Advisory Group oversees any specific recommendations that will distinguish CIPS Designees at this site. If you have comments or ideas you wish this group to consider, you should submit these to NAR at narglobe@realtors.org.

10. Is WorldProperties advertising service only for residential properties?
Yes, at this time, the advertising service accommodates only residential property ads. A commercial property advertising service currently under development and ICREA will work with NAR Commercial to determine how U.S. members can participate. There will be no MLS-related restrictions for participation in the commercial listing service.

11. Where can I learn more about this new WorldProperties Advertising Service for distinctive and featured properties?
