About the training requirement

REALTORS® are required to complete ethics training of not less than 2 hours, 30 minutes of instructional time within four-year cycle. The training must meet specific learning objectives and criteria established by the National Association of REALTORS®.

The current four-year cycle will end Dec. 31, 2016.

Training may be completed through local REALTOR® associations or through another method, such as home study, correspondence, classroom courses, or online courses.

Cycle 4 credit begins

Starting March 1, 2013, existing members who complete NAR's online ethics training will be reported to NRDS using updated course codes and numbers for the 4th training cycle (2013-2016).

Have you been terminated for not completing Cycle 3 training?

If your membership has been terminated because you did not complete Cycle 3 training, when you register for the existing member course, your local board may require that you check the box for "cycle 3 (2009-2012) credit" before renewing your membership. Contact your local board for more information.
