John C. Weicher is Director of the Center for Housing and Financial Markets at Hudson Institute. In previous years, he has served as Assistant Secretary for Housing and FHA Commissioner at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, as well as Assistant Secretary for Policy Development and Research at HUD, during which he was primarily responsible for developing the 1990 FHA reform legislation that reestablished FHA on a sound financial basis. With a Ph.D. in economics, John is also an author, editor, and has testified before Congressional committees on more than 40 occasions.
