In July 2007, NAR submitted a series of RESPA questions to HUD's general counsel looking for guidance. NAR's questions addressed issues such as compensating REALTORS® as loan officers, employment agreements between agents and lenders and the definition of "thing of value" in certain circumstances. After 13 months, HUD has responded to NAR's inquiry. Read on for HUD's formal answers.
