A Message From The 2009 RES Advisory Board Leadership
Harley Rouda, Jr., Chair
Merle Whitehead, Vice Chair
Step into the offices of any full-service real estate firm today, or better yet, visit their web site, and you’ll see a collection of offerings all designed to serve customers through every step of the transaction and beyond – insurance, home inspections, home warranties, financing, title insurance, and even concierge services. Gone are the days when all a real estate firm did was list and sell homes. Today’s real estate customer expects so much more.
Today’s new real estate business model means that the professional association serving brokers and agents has got to evolve as well, if it is to remain relevant. Welcome to the newest chapter in the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®’ dynamic history of service. It’s the chapter we like to call: “Beyond Brokerage.” Officially, it’s NAR’s Real Estate Services (RES) program.
This new initiative is all about supporting the full-service firms. NAR is expanding its scope to add value to the firms that provide ancillary services. Those of us involved in this effort call these services “core services” because they are so integral to our business success.
Through tailored communication, consulting services, economies of scale, cooperative ventures and specialized marketing tools, the RES program caters to today’s full-service real estate brokers. We invite you to take a look at how it evolved and how we plan to move forward with the Real Estate Services Advisory Board. NAR Leadership has demonstrated its commitment to the large brokerage community by creating two positions on the Executive Committee.
We’re proud to serve on this creative and ambitious team. Through our group’s work, NAR is unlocking the potential of the full-service real estate community – and, at the same time, building a better business future for all of us.
