Increase Your Message Credibility: Managing Challenging Issues (Sat)

11/14/2009   |  11:00 AM - 12:30 PM
Location: San Diego Convention Center, Room 26A

Individuals with on-camera experience and existing relationships with local media will benefit from an examination of how technique can best be used when facing particularly tough issues and hostility from reporters. Build on your experience or what you just learned in The Basics class. Our Burson-Marsteller team has more than 25 years of experience. They will develop scenarios that focus on specific issues that require careful messaging and skill in delivery, particularly when working with skeptical or hostile reporters.

Discover ways to prepare to respond effectively and credibly even in these difficult situations, and especially on TV. Selected attendees will be asked to volunteer to participate in mock interviews in this class.

Bring to class: To enhance the value of the class to you, we ask that you bring one positive story and one example of a challenging issue you might face. While we won’t be able to ask everyone to share, we may discover a number of common themes which will provide excellent learning examples for the class.

Class repeated: Attend ...The Basics on Saturday or Sunday at 9:00am-10:30am. Further hone your on-camera skills by attending Increase Your Message Credibility: Managing Challenging Issues on either Saturday or Sunday at 11:00am-12:30pm.

Pre-class recommendation: Our two-part presentation uses excerpts from the NAR-developed Surround Sound Campaign materials. You are encouraged to review these materials prior to attending the classes in San Diego.

Post-class one-on-one coaching: Upon completion of the class, a limited number of coaching sessions will be available on Saturday and Sunday. Only attendees at these classes will have the opportunity to schedule a coveted half-hour, one-on-one coaching session. A digital recording of your coaching session will be forwarded to you for your future reference.
