The Internet is a tremendous resource for buyers and sellers in today’s market. The National Association of Realtors® 2013 Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers found that nine out of 10 recent buyers went online during their home search process. With so much information out there it can be hard for buyers to know where to start and what information to trust. Realtor.com® has been known to provide the most up-to-date, accurate information on real estate markets throughout the country. The site also offers a Smartphone app that buyers can use to research properties and find a Realtor®.
The Internet isn’t just a helpful tool for buyers; it can also be a great marketing tool for sellers. Realtors® leverage online marketing avenues like realtor.com® and other websites to attract the largest pool of buyers. Also, online tools such as photos, videos and virtual tours are proven to be useful in attracting buyers.
Ask Realtors® in your area how they are using the Internet to help their clients buy and sell homes. Check in with recent buyers and ask them what Internet resources they used when looking for a home. Also be sure to find sellers who utilized resources like online videos and virtual tours; find out if they made a difference in the sale.
