As the housing market continues its road to recovery, Realtors® are equipping themselves with more knowledge and training to better meet and serve the needs of their clients. Survey results from the 2011 NAR Member Profile reveal strong growth in professional training.
According to the survey, 35 percent of Realtors® currently hold at least one out of six certifications in specialized training, up from 24 percent last year and 16 percent in 2009. Not surprisingly given the increase in distressed property sales, the most popular certification among those surveyed is the Short Sales and Foreclosures Resource Certification, which is held by 21 percent of Realtors®, up from 12 percent in 2009.
The most popular designation is the Graduate Realtor® Institute(GRI), held by 21 percent of those surveyed.
The more you know the more you grow… Thirty-six percent of Realtors® have at least one professional designation, up from 34 percent in 2010. These designations and certifications provide Realtors® additional expertise in various topics to help them serve the specialized needs of their clients.
