Commercial Legislation & Regulatory Advisory Board

Purpose

To identify and analyze emerging legislative and regulatory issues that impact commercial real estate; monitor and analyze current and prospective housing issues affecting federal multifamily housing programs and recommends appropriate policy; to develop, communicate, and advocate public policy which benefits the business interest of our commercial members while protecting and enhancing the right to own, use and transfer real property.

Composition

27 members as follows: Chair and Vice Chair, the Immediate Past Chair, Commercial Committee Chair and Vice Chair; two commercial overlay board representatives, one representative each from CCIM, CRE, IREM, RLI, and SIOR and 15 at-large members (two of which must be Local Board or State Association Executives) who have experience in commercial finance issues and programs.

Terms of service

One-year term.

Qualification(s) for consideration

• Commercial real estate practitioner for two years.
• Professional involvement in commercial real estate finance and/or taxation for two years.
• Strong interest in commercial public policy issues.
