Purpose

To formulate and make recommendations concerning strategic and financial planning, investment management, and budgeting, and to oversee all of the Association's finances and resources, so as to provide efficient and effective usage of all its assets.

Composition

17 members as follows:  Chair (who shall be the Treasurer); Vice Chair; the Immediate Past Chair*; one Local Board Executive Officer and one State Executive Officer appointed by the President; and 12 at-large members, at least eight of whom were directors when elected and no more than four of whom were not directors when elected but have served previously as directors.

*Note: If the Treasurer is elected for another term, there will only be 16 members on the committee rather than 17 members. The Strategic Planning Committee Chair, the Real Property Operations Committee Chair, and the Reserves Investment Advisory Board Vice Chair attend the Finance Committee meeting as ex-officio attendees.

Terms of service

Chair and Immediate Past Chair for a one-year term; Executive Officers for a two-year staggered term; at-large members (including Vice Chair) for a three-year staggered term.

Qualification(s) for consideration

• 3-5 years of NAR committee experience.
• Experience as Finance Committee member at the local or state level.
• Experience in financial planning, strategic planning and budgeting.
