Local Leadership Idea Exchange Council

Purpose

To allow for the exchange of ideas among leadership from local associations; to provide a means for two-way communications between national and local association leadership; to determine and administer hot topic idea exchanges at each Midyear Meetings, Annual Conference, and virtually throughout the year; and to provide a venue for local association leaders to discuss National Association programs and policies. The Local Leadership Idea Exchange Council is not a policy-making body; however, recommendations and concerns are forwarded to the appropriate NAR committee(s).

Composition

Chair and Vice Chair, two Mega Board representatives, two Large Board representatives, two Medium Board representatives, two Small Board representatives.

Attendees and Format: Presidents, Association Executives and leaders of all local associations. The group meets as a whole and breaks out by size and joins back together where ideas are shared amongst all members with the goal of exposing the larger group to multiple ideas and hot topics; additionally, National Leadership attends and the group is given the opportunity to ask questions.

- Mega Board - 7,000+ members
- Large Board - 2,000 to 6,999 members
- Medium Board - 500 to 1,999 members or more
- Small Board - 499 members or less

Note: The Chair of the committee will be a National Director by virtue of his/her position on the committee. Also, one of the two representatives for each size board will be a National Director by virtue of his/her position on the committee and will be responsible for leading the breakouts by size; this will be the representative serving the second year of his/her two year term, provided the Chair or the representative has not resigned a Directorship the term of which would have coincided in whole or in part with the term of his/her appointment.
