Reports to Multiple Listing Issues And Policies Committee
Purpose
To anticipate, identify and analyze emerging issues and trends related to cooperative real estate transactions facilitated by real estate professionals, with special emphasis on those brought about through MLSs. Develop timely, relevant proposals for optimizing the value of MLS for REALTORS® and consumers for consideration by the Multiple listing Issues and Policies Committee and the NAR Board of Directors.
Composition
A Chair and fifteen (15) members of the NAR Multiple Listing Issues and Policies Committee appointed to staggered two-year terms, including the Committee’s Chair, Vice Chair and Immediate Past Chair. At least eight Advisory Board members will be REALTORS® actively engaged in real estate brokerage or appraisal with experience in governance or operation of a local or regional MLS. The balance of the Advisory Board will be members of the Committee who are MLS administrators, key MLS staff or association executives with technological and administrative experience and competency necessary to address emerging issues and trends confronting MLSs.
Terms of service
Two-year staggered.
Qualification(s) for consideration
Members of the Multiple Listing Issues and Policies Committee who are REALTORS® actively engaged in real estate brokerage or appraisal with experience in governance or operation of a local or regional MLS, or MLS administrators, key MLS staff or association executives with technological and administrative experience and competency necessary to address emerging issues and trends confronting MLSs.
