Purpose
To consult and advise the President with regard to real property owned by the Association, which includes, but is not limited to, proposed leases for commercial tenants, extensions of existing leases, the value of and tenancy for commercial space offered, and other matters which shall be deemed appropriate by the President.
NOTE: The Real Property Operations Committee (RPOC) provides oversight to the Chicago building (in which NAR is the primary tenant), and the leased space in D.C.
Composition
10 members as follows: Chair and Vice Chair; the Immediate Past Chair; and seven at-large members. (The Chair and Vice Chair are selected by the President and President-elect from the at-large members.) One of the at-large members should be a person who meets at least one of the following criteria: a member in the Chicago area; a member in the Washington, D.C., area; a member who holds the CPM designation; a member who holds the CCIM designation; a member who holds the CRE designation; or a member who holds the SIOR designation.
Terms of service
Immediate Past Chair: one year term; at-large members: three-year staggered term.
Qualification(s) for consideration
• Experience in commercial real estate.
• Knowledge of property management practices.
• Understanding of real estate finances.
