Purpose
To formulate strategic priorities as a guide to NAR’s future, monitor and research threats, opportunities, key trends and issues that may impact the industry, our members and the Association. To recommend changes in long-term strategic direction to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors. To deliver, at minimum, an annual update to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors on strategic issues.
Composition
Core of the Strategic Planning Committee: 20 at-large members (one of which is the Chair of the Young Professionals Network Advisory Board, and two who specialize in commercial), plus the Chair (appointed by the President), Vice Chair (appointed by the President-elect), Immediate Past Chair; the elected Leadership Team members (President, Immediate Past President, President-elect, First Vice President, Treasurer); the CEO and Senior Vice Presidents ex-officio (without a vote). Outside participants (non-voting) based on the issues.
Terms of service
Three-year staggered term.
Qualification(s) for consideration
Visionary and provocative thinking skills, with the capability to think long-range and in the abstract; familiarity with the major industry issues.
