Equal Opportunity and Cultural Diversity Program
At Home with Diversity ® Instructors
To become an approved At Home with Diversity ® instructor you need to take both the At Home with Diversity 6-8 hour course, and the Train the Trainer class, offered by NAR. Before you can take the Train the Trainer class you need to complete the Instructor Application. (Please include a $150 application fee along with your completed application). Other qualifications include the following:
- A minimum of two years experience as a real estate professional, particularly in listing and sales
- Experience with training real estate professionals
- Statement of personal qualification and interest
- Three letters of reference
The application process is competitive and individuals who complete an application are not guaranteed a spot in the Train the Trainer class. Class size is limited. You will be notified upon receipt of your application, and if you meet the requirements, you will be notified about the next Train the Trainer class.
The class is a full day training taught by NAR’s Instructor Trainers. The training consists of lecture, discussion, and exercises. Pre-assigned demonstration exercises will be provided in a packet sent to participants before the training session.
As an approved instructor you will be listed on Realtor.org. and will be approved to train Realtors® around the country in the At Home with Diversity® course. You will be eligible to receive compensation for the training you provide by the sponsoring organization.
Once you are approved as in instructor, you will be eligible to teach the At Home with Diversity® class for two years. Your term will be renewed for another two years if you teach at least one class during your two-year term and continue to meet the requirements listed in the instructor agreement. If you do not teach a class within your 2-year term, you will need to be recertified.
