Housing Opportunity Program

Grants

Housing Opportunity Fund

Local and state REALTOR® associations can request financial support for programs and activities that create housing opportunities for area residents. Since its creation in 2002, the Housing Opportunity Program has awarded more than $200,000 in funding to state and local REALTOR® associations.

The Housing Opportunity Fund (formerly known as State and Local Initiatives Fund), created in 2006, supports a wide range of housing opportunity programs with grants of up to $5,000. To be considered, programs should support the mission of the NAR Housing Opportunity Program. Only  local and state REALTOR® associations can apply for funding through the Housing Opportunity Fund; individual REALTORS® are not eligible for grants.

The grants can be used for activities such as housing symposiums, homebuyer resource Web sites and guides, counseling services, financial literacy efforts, homebuyer fairs, down payment assistance programs, public opinion surveys or other housing related programs.
