Housing Opportunity Program
Grants
Ira Gribin Workforce Housing Grants
Application Information & Requirements
All state and territorial REALTOR® housing foundations are encouraged to apply. State or territorial associations without a foundation may apply for the Workforce Housing grants directly. For a state or territorial association that does not have a foundation, but wishes to establish one, NAR will provide technical and financial assistance to help them create a foundation.
Local REALTOR® housing foundations or associations are not eligible to apply for the funding directly. However, local foundations and associations are encouraged to work with their state to participate.
Successful proposals will incorporate all of the following:
• A focus on workforce housing, as defined by the association, which may include households in certain income levels, employees in public service or other targeted job areas, or a program designed to address a uniquely defined workforce housing need.
• An active role for the applicant foundation/association.
• At least one significant partner organization (e.g., local governments, employers, non-profits).
• An ongoing and sustainable activity, not a one-time event.
• A detailed implementation plan.
• A mechanism for measuring and reporting outcomes and success.
In addition to completing the grant application form, applicants must supply a detailed program description, budget, timeline, and supporting materials indicative of their proposal’s success. Applicants must also provide a roadmap for their initiative’s continued operation beyond the grant funding period.
