Housing Opportunity Program
Ambassadors for Cities Program
Application & How to Apply
Application Deadline
The application for the 2010 Ambassadors for Cities awards is January 29, 2010. Download the application.
Preference will be given to applications that:
- Outline an ongoing collaboration between the local REALTOR® associations and city government (one-time housing-related events with a mayor will NOT qualify)
- Demonstrate how the program involves a wide segment of the REALTOR® membership, not just a few members or association staff
- Detail the role of the mayor and city staff in achieving the goals of the program
- Explain how the partnership has created more housing opportunities in the community
- Create and conduct a program that is replicable by other REALTOR® associations and/or cities
- Demonstrate a concrete plan to utilize NAR's financial contribution and also commit to using local association funding to support the program
Awards and Recognition
A team of REALTORS® and designees of the USCM will review the applications and select up to six Ambassadors for Cities locations that best meet the criteria outlined above. Ambassadors for Cities recognition includes:
- A $5,000 award to the REALTOR® association, to be used towards the initiative or public event where the Ambassador award is presented
- Plaques presented by NAR and USCM to recognize the designees' outstanding success
- Recognition in NAR and USCM print and online publications and brochures
