Home From Work™
Certified Instructors
♦ Home From Work™ Certified Instructors
To become an approved Home From Work ™ instructor you need to take both the Home From Work ™ and the Train the Trainer classes. Before you can take the Train the Trainer class you need to complete the Instructor Application and reference form. Other qualifications include the following:
- A minimum of two years experience as a real estate professional, particularly in listing and sales.
- Experience with training real estate professionals.
- Experience with workforce/affordable housing or employer-assisted housing.
The application process is competitive and individuals who complete an application are not guaranteed a spot in the Train the Trainer class. Classes are limited to 14 individuals. If you meet the requirements, you will be notified about the next Train the Trainer class.
The class is a full day training taught by NAR’s master trainer. Completion of the Home From Work™ is a prerequisite to taking the Train The Trainer class.
As an approved instructor you will be listed on Realtor.org. and will be approved to train Realtors® around the country in the Home From Work program. You will be eligible to receive compensation for the training you provide by the sponsoring organization.
Once you are approved as in instructor, you will be eligible to teach the Home From Work class for two years. Your term will be renewed for another two years if you teach at least one class during your two-year term; continue to meet the requirements and complete the Instructor Renewal form.
If you did not teach a class within your 2-year term, you will need to be re-certified. To be considered for re-certification, you need to complete the Recertification Appplication and, if approved, take the Train the Trainer class again.
♦ Watch the June 3, 2009 Instructor's Webinar - This webinar reviews both instructor and sponsor responsibilities, discusses future updates and answers questions from instructors about the Home From Work™class.
