Classes
♦ Schedule of Upcoming Classes
The three-hour Home From Work™ class teaches REALTORS® how to work with local employers to implement an employer-assisted housing (EAH) benefits program. After completing the class, REALTORS® will be ready to approach employers, advocate for EAH programs, and help employers put their programs in place.
Courses are taught by NAR certified instructors and continuing education credits are available in some states.
Through the Home From Work™ class, REALTORS® will learn:
- The concept of employer assisted housing (EAH) and how EAH benefits Realtors®, employers and the community
- The types of EAH benefits including:
- Home buying workshops delivered by REALTORS® and lenders
- One-on-one counseling provided by nonprofit groups
- Financial assistance, such as forgivable loans, gifts, or matched savings, provided by the employer or by leveraging state and federal programs
- How to reach out to employers and assist them with developing an EAH benefit program
- What is involved with conducting a home buyer workshop
Students will receive materials and tools on how to develop an EAH benefit program including:
- Letter of introduction to use when contacting an employer
- Slide presentation for your first meeting with an employer
- Cost benefit analysis worksheet
- Customized promotional flier
- Homebuyer workshop presentation
- Step-by-step guide to developing an EAH benefit program
