Housing Opportunity Program

Programs

Through these NAR Housing Opportunity programs, REALTORS® and state and local associations can play key roles in advocating for expanding housing opportunities in communities.

REALTORS® Ambassadors for Cities Program

REALTORS® and mayors are working together to find solutions to housing needs in their communities. Each year, NAR and the U.S. Conference of Mayors recognize several highly successful private/public partnerships. Learn how your association's partnership can receive $5,000 towards a housing initiative from the REALTORS® Ambassadors for Cities program.

Home from Work

The Home from Work training program teaches REALTORS® how to increase housing opportunities for area employees. Through this workforce housing initiative, REALTORS® reach out to employers to create financial housing benefits and offer home-buying sessions for their employees. Learn about the Home From Work program, where to take the three-hour class, or how to sponsor a session become an instructor.

Gulf Coast Recovery

REALTORS® responded quickly when Hurricanes Rita and Katrina devastated thousands of homes in Gulf Coast states.  REALTORS® are still contributing not only funds but also their time to rebuild affected areas. Read about the work underway to build REALTOR®-sponsored homes in the Gulf region and find out how to get involved in the Gulf Coast Recovery effort.

Housing Opportunity Fund

Do you have a good idea about how to make housing more available and affordable in your area? Learn how your association can apply for funding for your program or activity through the Housing Opportunity Fund (formerly known as the State and Local Initiatives Fund).
