Welcome to the Country Profiles & Business Practices of the CIPS Network.
Here you will find narrative profiles and/or industry business practice information for more than 50 country real estate markets. For countries displaying this logo - , you will be directed to that country's Real Estate Business Practices page on the site of the International Consortium of Real Estate Associations (ICREA). This information is provided directly by the ICREA member associations.
NAR has endeavored to collect the same information for its bilateral partners not affiliated with ICREA in order to provide consistent information. Where NAR has been unable to gather the business practice information, a “country profile” is provided that addresses the country’s real estate market situation, political environment, real estate practices, land rights/usage, foreign ownership rules (as information is available), and offers additional resources for in-depth research. As international market conditions can change rapidly, users of this information should note the publication date included in each profile as a guide to currency and accuracy of the information.
Why this Information is Valuable to US Practitioners: The information is provided to assist real estate practitioners who conduct business outside the US, and for the US practitioner doing business locally with immigrant communities and/or foreign investors. Understanding the cultural and business background from which these individuals come can greatly enhance your ability to successfully manage a transaction, and ultimately expand your network and range of potential clients.
Market Issues/Analysis: Commentary and market analysis on select regional or national markets are provided in this section. NAR invites submissions of papers for posting in this section. Send submissions to NARGlobe@realtors.org and note “For Market Issues/Analysis webpage.” NAR provides no compensation for publication and retains the right to remove at any time. As documents are posted as is, include all author/copyright information within the document.
Global Real Estate Project: An additional source for information on non-US markets is available at the Global Real Estate Project, developed by the University of Denver's Burns School of Real Estate and Construction Management. Here you will find a vast catalog of information about individual countries and their real estate business practices. Together with the business practices and narrative profiles provided by NAR, practitioners should be able to gain a fairly detailed picture of real estate markets around the world.
