Effective December 1, 2016, the Department of Labor’s new Overtime Rule will increase the minimum salary level needed for Executive, Administrative and Professional workers to be exempt, as well as increase the total annual compensation requirement for highly compensated employees. In addition, the Overtime Rule provides for an automatic update to the minimum salary and compensation levels every three years.
