FAQ : One of my eBook titles expired so I checked it out again, but it still says it has expired.

For your information:

If you check out an Adobe eBook, but don't finish it in the 21 day lending period you can re-check it out if no one else has reserved it. Sometimes though the system says you still have the old expired file in your computer and won't allow you to view it. Here's how you can fix the issue:

Please note, when looking at the title on your eBookshelf the 'download' button should be visible. If not or it says "disabled, please contact..." one of our librarians will need to reauthorize the download.

If you have Internet Explorer 6:
1. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options.
2. On the 'General' tab, in the 'Temporary Internet Files' section,
click the 'Delete Files' button.
3. Check the 'Delete all offline content' checkbox.
4. Once completed, please also click the ‘Delete Cookies’ button.
5. Click 'OK'.

If you have Internet Explorer 7:
1. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options.
2. On the 'General' tab, in the Browsing history' section, click the
'Delete' button.
3. Click the 'Delete all’ button at the bottom of this menu.
4. Click 'Yes'.

Next, please remove the title(s) from Adobe Reader (if they are there) by following the steps below:

If you have Adobe Reader 6.0:

1. Click on File > My Bookshelf. Right-click on the cover image of the
title and select 'Delete from Bookshelf'.

2. Navigate to My Documents\My eBooks\ and delete the book if it is
present.

3. Back in Adobe Reader, click on File > My Bookshelf. Right-click in
the Bookshelf window and choose 'Refresh My Bookshelf'. After the
Bookshelf is finished refreshing, close the Bookshelf and Adobe Reader.

4. Go to the library website and download the book again.

If you have Adobe Reader 7.0:

1. Click on File > Digital Editions > My Digital Editions. Right-click
on the cover image of the title and select 'Remove'.

2. Navigate to My Documents\My Digital Editions\ and delete the book if it is present.

3. Go to the library website and download the book again.
