The REALTOR® Group: How Several Together Can Build Community
Who: Members of the North San Diego County Association of REALTORS®
What: Refurbishing Homes in Vista, California, within the Revitalize Our Community Project.
How they did it: North San Diego County has nine districts within its Association. At a weekly Friday morning REALTORS®’ new listing “Pitch Session,” Dist. #6 agents organized a 40-member work crew to make improvements in a neighborhood needing TLC. For eight hours the REALTORS® worked along with the homeowners, using brooms, rakes, paint brushes and other equipment provided by the city of Vista, CA. District #6 REALTORS® helped revitalize 24 homes in that Vista neighborhood during the 7th Annual Vista Revitalize Our Community Project.
Why they keep doing it: Jim Aldredge, Dist. #6 Chair says, “As REALTORS®, it was easy to give back to these homeowners.
I go out there and wear my REALTOR® shirt and hope REALTORS® are seen in a positive light and when people need to buy or sell a property, I hope they’ll remember: REALTORS® are out there. REALTORS® give back. That’s what it’s all about and I think that’s something to be proud of.”
