Mediation is NAR's preferred method of dispute resolution. All local REALTOR® associations must, as a benefit of membership, offer the ability to mediate otherwise-arbitrable disputes. In some REALTOR® associations, mediation is required prior to an arbitration hearing.

The following is a collection of mediation events, resources, and information.

Training & Events

NAR offers Mediation Training annually in Chicago. Since 2000, NAR has offered an exceptional 2½ day program covering NAR’s mediation model. This program includes one full day of personalized coaching from some of the country’s foremost mediation experts.

NAR also hosts a Professional Standards Education Seminar annually in Chicago. This seminar includes some training on mediation, but its focus is more generally on the entire professional standards process.
